Moondancers Studios says, “Suncatchers make the perfect gifts - Set the light to dance, place a suncatcher in your window, the glimmer is sure to make everyone smile.”
Jennie White, Moondancers-Studios artist, tells her story…
“I started out doing stained glass many years ago and have always tried to incorporate glass into all my hobbies. I love colored glass and the way it comes alive with color when light hits it. I acquired some bevels and an old chandelier at a garage sale one day. The crystals in the chandelier were beautiful and I knew I had to use them in my stained glass projects, but what would I do. While pondering on how to use these beautiful crystals, I was arranging some flowers from the garden in a vase with colored glass nuggets and the brain storm hit and viola the MoonDancers were born.
I love designing new sun catchers and adding new designs to my web site often. The sun catchers are nothing more than lead caming, bevels, and glass nuggets. The designs and light hitting the colored glass is what makes them come to life in a spectrum of color.
I find the suncatchers relaxing and love the way they bring oohs and ahs to first time viewers. I have several placed around my garden pond and in the summertime that is my retreat for inspiration of new design ideas. The sound of trickling water into the pond and the brilliance of color from the sun catchers is so relaxing and peaceful.”
